Tina has more than 25 years of experience in the field of chemical dependency and co-occurring psychiatric disorders. She earned a Bachelor of Liberal Studies with a minor in Social Work from Barry University, a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from New York Institute of Technology and a Doctorate in Counseling Psychology. Tina is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Qualified Supervisor, a Certified Addiction Professional (CAP), Certified Criminal Justice Addictions Professional (CCJAP), and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC).
Tina began her career as a counselor in a public substance abuse treatment program in South Florida. She went on to work as a Clinical Director and as a Clinical Administrator at multiple co-occurring substance abuse treatment centers throughout the South Florida area. Her experience working with a variety of psychiatric and addiction populations in different settings has afforded her a unique opportunity to understand the care clients require in order to achieve progress and recovery. She uses evidenced-based practices and task-based approaches to offer clients the most effective clinical care. She has extensive experience working with eating disorders, body image, mood and personality disorders and trauma.
She believes that through developing trust and understanding with clients and their families that clinicians are better able to confront relevant issues to maximize the possibility for significant change. Tina is well versed in the unique challenges faced by individuals in early recovery and believes that successful treatment of clients struggling with addiction and relapse requires a multi-faceted clinical approach that incorporates treatment of the individual and the family with an emphasis on participation in 12 step programs.

Emilio J. Duboy, MD is a practicing Psychiatrist (Therapist) in West Palm Beach, FL. Dr. Duboy graduated from University of Michigan Medical School in 1983 and has been in practice for 33 years. His extensive experience and knowledge in the substance abuse industry have shown first hand that the addict or alcoholic’s using is not the sole issue when it comes to their on-going addiction. Alex has stated, Leaving any rock upturned or issue not addressed will only keep the individual and their family members in a limbo state of pain and suffering. Karen Coakley, MSN, ARNP, BC
Psychiatric and Medical Nurse Practitioner
Karen is a Psychiatric and Medical Nurse Practitioner with a career that spans over 30 years. She began her work as an emergency room nurse.
Karen prides herself with carefully and thoughtfully listening to each client as she obtains a comprehensive medical and psychiatric history in order to best assess each and every client’s needs. She combines her compassion and astute skill of medication management to formulate an individual protocol to affect a successful outcome for each of her clients.
Laura Ward, LMHC, CAP
Laura Ward is a licensed mental health counselor through the state of Florida as well as certified as an addictions professional with the Florida certification board. Laura holds a master’s degree in counseling psychology and has been a therapist working in the field of substance abuse rehabilitation since 2007. She has trained in trans-personal psychology and experiential therapies to better connect with her clients. Laura has specialized training with depression, anxiety, trauma, mood, and personality disorders for clients who also struggle with addiction and mental illness. Research shows that people who address these issues concurrently have the best possibility of long term recovery. Laura has obtained special training and is an approved provider for PRN, IPN and FLA. She has trained with Tian Dayton PhD. in the field of Psychodrama; Stanislov Grof in the field of Holistic Breathwork, and Duey Freeman in Gestalt methodologies.
Karen Miller, CBHT
Karen began her work in the field of addiction in 1976 as a tech in Duluth, Minnesota. She graduated from Hazelden’s Counselor Training Program at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Vancouver, Washington in 1987. Karen returned to Minnesota and spent the next twelve years working as an inpatient counselor in Hazelden-based programs in both Duluth and Hibbing, Minnesota.
In the late 1980s, Karen relocated to the Palm Beaches where she stopped working to concentrate on family and other interests. In February of 2000, she returned to the addiction field and became a Certified Behavioral Health Tech on Hanley-Hazelden’s older adult unit and as the lead tech on the women’s unit. From 2006 – 2015 Karen worked at a private, women’s treatment program where she served as the Tech Supervisor and later, as a case manager. Karen’s specialty/skill set includes leading psycho-educational groups on recovery topics and addiction, as well as organizational and multi-tasking ability.
